The Wellington's Phoenix Brazilian midfielder Daniel Cortes has become a local player in football's A league competition after gaining New Zealand citizenship yesterday.
The 29-year-old now has his sights set on representing his adopted country at international level but he will have to wait on FIFA clearing him to play with varying opinions on how long he might have to wait to become eligible.
