Earlier break through for Black Caps

The Australian cricketers are 57 for two at lunch on day two of the second test in Aadelaide with Matthew Hayden run out for 24 and Simon Katich caught close in off Dan Vettori for 23.

New Zealand failed to make the most of a good pitch to be all out for 270 early on day two, adding only eight runs to the overnight total while losing four wickets.

Brendon McCullum was first to go for 30, followed by Tim Southee for two and Iain O'Brien and Chris Martin without scoring, leaving Dan Vettori on 18.

The Australian fast bowler Brett Lee finished with four for 68.
