The Taiwanese golfer Lin Wen-tang became the first Asian in a decade to win the Hong Kong Open after a grandstand finish with the Irish teenager Rory McIlroy and the Italian Francesco Molinari.
Lin gave the European pair a second life when he missed a birdie putt on the last hole of regulation play, and he played a miraculous recovery shot from trees to match McIlroy's birdie on the first playoff hole, before making another birdie on the second extra hole to win the title.
The overnight leader, England's Oliver Wilson, who's had 8 second-place finishes without winning, faded to finish 6th.
New Zealand's Mark Brown tied for 34th after a final round of 69.
