The former Australian cricket captain Ian Chappell believes Ricky Ponting is still the best option to lead Australia.
Ponting has come under fire following the number one ranked side losing their series in India 2-nil.
Ponting's decision to use his part-time bowlers to improve the over-rate in the 4th test has been widely criticised... with some suggesting Ponting was putting himself ahead of country so as to prevent being suspended.
Chappell told Cricinfo everyone should regain their confidence in Ponting when they take on New Zealand in a 2-test series starting next week and that the big test will come when they face South Africa later in the summer....
