The Kiwi league centre Steve Matai has been cleared of a serious neck injury and might even be considered for Saturday's World Cup semi-final against England in Brisbane.
The team's medical staff feared Matai might have suffered a spinal fracture after a head on collision in a tackle during their win over England in their final pool match in Newcastle on Saturday night.
His involvement in the rest of the tournament will be clearer after an MRI scan to check for any disc damage.
