The German driver Timo Glock reacted with astonishment after suggestions yesterday that he gifted Lewis Hamilton the world drivers championship title in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Glock was running a fading 5th on the final lap when Hamilton passed him on the second to last corner to finish in the top 5 which gave him the title by one point from Ferrari's race winner Felipe Massa.
Glock said he simply stayed out on the circuit too long in the rain on the wrong tyres, and his Toyota lost 18 seconds on that final lap.
McLaren's team boss Martin Whitmarsh said their data had told them Hamilton would catch Glock and pass him on the final lap.
