Denmark have ended New Zealand's hopes of winning the under-17 women's football World Cup, beating the hosts 2-1 in Auckland.
The Young Football Ferns opened the scoring through a lovely 13th minute chip from midfielder Annalie Longo from outside the box .
But Denmark's Linette Andreasen cancelled that goal out with a diving toe poke from a cross on the half hour mark.
Then defender Britta Olsen scored again for the visitors after the break with a lovely weaving run on 56 minutes, putting them top of their pool on goal difference and eliminating New Zealand.
Canada are second, also on four points, after a 1-1 draw with Colombia in the earlier match at Albany.
New Zealand's second loss, despite another spirited comeback, means they remain pointless and cannot now qualify.
But they have one last game, against Colombia in Wellington on Tuesday. The South Americans stay alive on two points and can go through with a win if either Canada or Denmark go down in their final pool game in Hamilton, also on Tuesday.
In the other pool in Christchurch, Korea DPR beat Costa Rica 2-1 to seal their place in the next round along with Germany, who qualified with a second win, 3-2 over Ghana at QEII Park.
