Cox to miss two-Test series against Silver Ferns

The netbal world netball champions Australia will tackle New Zealand without their two most experienced shooters after Catherine Cox had her season effectively ended by an ankle injury.

Cox played in just one of Australia's first four Tests this year and will miss the two-Test series against the Silver Ferns because of a partial ligament tear.

Australia's coach Norma Plummer has relied heavily on her youngest shooters this season because of injuries to Cox and first-choice captain Sharelle McMahon, who's had knee surgery.

Coxc says she's not sure what to expect from New zealand after their three-Test home series against England, where they suffered a shock two-goal loss sandwiched between two massive 39-goal victories as she doesn't think she's seen anything like it before.

Meanwhile a decision on Silver Ferns captain Julie Seymour 's fitness will be made today.

She missed the third test against England with an achilles tendon strain and had an MRI scan yesterday.
