Valentino Rossi had already wrapped up his sixth world title before the Malaysian MotoGp at Sepang but the Italian showed his his competitive spirit's still alive with his ninth win of the season for Yamaha.
Rossi took the lead halfway through the race and surged clear of Spain's Danny Pedrosa on a Honda to the season's penultimate race with a comfortable, although the weather was anything but.
