The legendary Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros is in a stable condition after a 12 hour operation to remove a brain tumour.
In a statement from Madrid's La Paz hospital Ballesteros' doctors said their objective was to remove as much of the tumour as possible before radio- or chemotherapy, and the surgery was completed without complications. It's not known if the tumour was malignant or benign.
Ballesteros was taken to hospital last week after collapsing in Madrid airport.
