Southland has beaten Bay of Plenty 45-11 in Mt Maunganui to join Canterbury and Wellington in the semi-finals of rugby's provincial championship.
The Steamers scored first but the Stags hit back quickly and led 21-8 at half-time, going on to score six converted tries to the home team's one.
It was 21-8 at half time.
Earlier Wellington beat Taranaki 50-30 in Wellington, scoring seven tries to three.
