Otago's fortunes in the Air New Zealand cup may on the wane but they've received a boost with All Blacks flanker Adam Thomson signing with the province for a further two years through until the end of 2010.
Otago are currently eleventh on the competition table having chalked up just three wins in their nine matches this season.
Thomson, who's 26, made his debut for Otago in 2004 has played seven tests after being selected for the All Blacks this year.
Thomson's re-signing comes days after wing Fetu'u Vainikolo and lock Tom Donnelly also re-signed with Otago for a further two years.
