Black Caps leave for Bangladesh

7:08 am on 1 October 2008

The batting concerns shown by the New Zealand cricket side in recent seasons is futher underpinned by the lack of experience of the top order personnel which leave for the tour of Bangladesh this afternoon.

All but one of the Black Caps' top six batters have played fewer than 10 Tests.

Jamie How's the only exception, making his Test debut two years ago, which has captain Daniel Vettori pushing for wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum to bat at five.

But Test minnow Bangladesh have lost 13 players to the rebel Indian Cricket League Twenty20 competition and the Black Caps are favoured to win both series.

The tour consists of three one day games and two Tests.
