Warriors believe momentum can continue

Senior members of the Warriors rugby league side don't expect their National Rugby League team's bubble to burst, despite losing talisman Ruben Wiki and two other Test forwards.

The departures of Wiki and fellow internationals Logan Swann and Wairangi Koopu following the season-ending 32-6 preliminary final loss to Manly will deprive the club of 667 games of first grade experience.

But coach Ivan Cleary, skipper Steve Price, halfback Nathan Fien and centre Brent Tate are remaining upbeat despite the convincing defeat, and say they're optimistic about the club's future.

Cleary regards the Warriors' 2008 campaign as another step in the right direction and says they are building slowly.

Tate says they have lost a couple of leaders but that there's a couple of young kids coming through who are ready to step up and he believes good times are ahead.
