Vaughan to play club cricket in Australia

The former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan will spend up to six weeks playing club cricket in Australia in a bid to revive his international career.

According to the British newspaper The Mail on Sunday, Vaughan's close ties with retired Australian player Darren Lehmann make South Australia his most likely base.

England and Wales Cricket Board selector Geoff Miller has confirmed Vaughan would be left out of the national squad to be announced for an upcoming tour of India.

Vaughan resigned from the England captaincy during his side's recent Test series defeat against South Africa and has struggled for form with the bat.
