Legal action might be considered by the Brisbane Broncos over the release by a Brisbane bar of CCTV footage, claiming it showed the Broncos captain Darren Lockyer tackling their bar manager.
The Broncos won't be launching an inquiry into the controversy which involved several players, but a leading lawyer says Lockyer would have grounds to sue if the allegations against him could not be substantiated.
The club's chief executive Bruno Cullen says footage of the incident is far from conclusive and there's no evidence that Lockyer was involved. He also believes the venue has broken the law by releasing the CCTV footage.
