The New Zealand Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah says they're bitterly disappointed with the NRL judiciary's decision to suspend fullback Wade McKinnon.
McKinnon faced a contrary conduct charge of spitting at or in the direction of touch judge during last Sunday's clash against Penrith at Mt Smart Stadium.
After a two-hour hearing, the three-man NRL judicial panel decided McKinnon was guilty and should be banned for three games.
Scurrah says they're not satisfied McKinnon had been fairly treated and immediately sought leave to appeal the decision.
The appeal was heard last night, with the judiciary chairman reserving his judgement until today.
The warriors play Parramatta in Sydney on saturday night, needing a win and some other matches to go their way to make the play-offs.
