Fifth seed Nikolay Davydenko has crashed out of the U.S. Open tennis tournament, losing in 4 sets to qualifier Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in the 4th round.
Ranked 130th in the world, Muller outplayed the world number five with his serve-and volley tactics and hammered in 20 aces.
The Russian struggled to find his rhythm and was the less consistent player, making errors at key moments.
Muller will now play Roger Federer.
