All Blacks call up Kahui as a winger

6:07 pm on 31 July 2008

The injury-hit All Blacks will field a new-look back three for Saturday night's test against Australia in Auckland, with the Waikato and Chiefs midfielder Richard Kahui moving to the right wing.

Leon MacDonald's withdrawal yesterday with lingering symptoms of concussion sees Mils Muliaina back at fullback while winger Anthony Tuitavake is on the bench.

Decisions at hooker and halfback will be confirmed tomorrow morning with the injuries to Andrew Hore's hip, Andy Ellis's ribs and Jimmy Cowan's knee to be tested at training this afternoon and their recovery monitored.

Captain Richie McCaw's high ankle sprain will also be assessed to determine whether Adam Thomson or Daniel Braid takes a place in the reserves.

Muliaina says weather and ground conditions suggest it'll be more of a kicking contest at Eden Park, and the All Blacks know what's needed there to provide better support for first-five Dan Carter.
