The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic's two-point win over the Adelaide Thunderbirds to advance to the trans Tasman netball grand final will serve them well, according to the Silver Ferns coach Ruth Aitken.

Tonight in Sydney the Magic play the New South Wales Swifts who earned home advantage with a one point win in Hamilton a couple of weeks ago.

The Swifts are unbeaten at home this year and have won their past eight matches but Aitken is picking the trophy will come to Hamilton.

Aitken says the extra game last Monday night will give them a lot of confidence to win in Australia for the first time.

They're hoping for a world record crowd of more than 14,000 for tonight's big match.
