The New Zealand men's under 23 football side has scored a two-all draw against Persija Jakarta to end the Indonesian leg of their pre-Olympics build-up.

Needing to rest several players in New Zealand's seventh game in just over three weeks, coach Stu Jacobs was forced to borrow three African trialistsfrom Persija to make up the numbers.

Jacobs even introduced the squad's sport scientist Andrew Foskett as a late substitute ensure all players remained fresh as the team headed for Beijing, and a possible training match against Honduras.

Jeremy Brockie scored his fourth goal in five games and Chris Killen his first since stepping off a plane last Wednesday.
