The All Blacks halfback Jimmy Cowan will travel with the side to South Africa this weekend, after passing a fitness test.
Cowan suffered a rib injury in the All Blacks win over Australia in the Tri-Nations and Bledisloe Cup test in Melbourne and then missed the next game against the Wallabies in Christchurch.
The All Blacks doctor Deb Robinson says Cowan simply need rest to recover and now having been passed fit can resume training.
His inclusion means Alby Matthewson, who made his test debut in Christchurch, drops out of the squad.
The All Blacks have already retained the Bledisloe Cup and if they earn a point against South Africa in Johannesburg next weekend will claim the Tri Nations title.
