Two months out from the start of the Delhi Commonwealth Games and the event appears to be in shambles.
The city remains a construction site, many of the venues and much of the infrastructure are yet to be tested.
There are claims of a misuse of funds, while an opinion poll has backed up the views of a former sports minister who says he hopes the Games fail.
The chairman of the Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi has again been forced to defend their progress and in particular the latest allegations of corruption.
Kalmadi added that accusations of poor construction had nothing to do with his committee, after the Games were hit by reports alleging building quality certificates had been faked.
India's cricket chiefs have also turned down a request from the Games organisers for a grant of $30 million to help with escalating costs.
The Games start on October 3rd.
