Ferrari's president has slammed as hypocrites those who have accused the glamour Italian team of manipulating the result of Monday's German Formula One Grand Prix.
Ferrari have been fined 140,000 for ordering Felipe Massa to give way and allow his teammate Fernando Alonso to win the race, triggering outrage among rival teams and the public.
But Luca di Montezemolo says his drivers have always been aware that the interests of the team take priority over the individual.
The matter has been referred to Formula One's governing body which could impose a more severe punishment.
