Deans considering appeal on Cooper's suspension

The Australia rugby team is expected to appeal the two match suspension of first five Quade Cooper, after he was cited for a dangerous tackle during the Wallbies' 17-point win against the Springboks in Brisbane.

The suspension was handed down for a spear tackle on South Africa's Morne Steyn in the second half of the match.

Cooper's good record was taken into account by the judiciary, but the Wallabies' coach, Robbie Deans, says everyone was shocked by the two-match penalty.

Deans says they'll look at the decision and may appeal the severity of the penalty.
