Basketball New Zealand has accepted a Sports Tribunal of New Zealand decision to suspend North Harbour Heat, Breakers and Tall Blacks squad member Corey Webster until August the 23rd after he tested positive for cannabis use.
Webster returned a positive sample after the Harbour Heat v Bay Hawkes NBL game in May and has served a provisional suspension since June the 23rd.
The Harbour Heat guard admitted his violation in the Tribunal hearing.
The suspension means Webster will miss the upcoming Tall Blacks selection trials in Europe making him unavailable for the World Basketball Championship in Turkey starting on August the 28th.
