The New Zealand women's cricket team have levelled the five game one day series against England 1-all with a convincing four wicket win over the hosts in Somerset.

The young Otago all-rounder Suzie Bates produced an impressive display with the bat and ball, taking three wickets to restrict England to 208 for 9 before scoring an unbeaten 75 as she steered the White Ferns to victory with 13 balls to spare.

The White Ferns coach Gary Stead says the win was close to the perfect performance.

The third game in the series takes place in Derby on Friday.
