The World championship leader Jorge Lorenzo posted the fasted time in the first MotoGP practice for the Catalan Grand Prix.
The Yamaha rider clocked a fastest lap of 1 minute, 43.259 seconds at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Australian Casey Stoner, riding a Ducati, was second and Dani Pedrosa third on a Honda.
Spain's Lorenzo leads the standings with 140 points going into the fifth race of the season. His compatriot Pedrosa is second on 93, with Andrea Dovizioso third on 89.
