The battered New South Wales Swifts skipper Catherine Cox is expected to take on the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in the sudden death trans-Tasman netball league preliminary final in Newcastle on Sunday - pending a visit to a specialist tomorrow.
Cox suffered a broken nose after an accidental head clash with the Adelaide Thunderbirds defender Geva Mentor in the first quarter of the Swifts' 52-38 major semi-final loss .
She played on until the third quarter before the knock and a corked thigh resulted in her being replaced.
Cox will see a specialist as a precaution, but is expected to be given the all clear.
