The Warriors' winger Kevin Locke has been cleared of a serious hip injury after scoring the match-winning try in his side's dramatic 20-18 win over the Sydney Roosters in yesterday's 16th-round NRL clash in Christchurch.
The 21-year-old was stretchered from the field after he collided with a goalpost in scoring his third try just before fulltime and was taken to Christchurch Hospital for x-rays.
He stayed behind with the team doctor John Mayhew last night before flying back to Auckland.
Mayhew says Locke has heavy bruising on the left side of his hip and a medial ligament strain in his left knee.
He says there's no fracture but it's too soon to say how long it'll be before Locke can play.
