Former Silver Ferns player and renowned Otago coach Georgie Salter has died aged 67.
North Otago Netball posted on social media that Salter, who lived in the region, died on Wednesday night.

"This amazing woman passed away peacefully surrounded by all her family, telling stories and singing waiata. The family are doing Maori Tangi at home until Friday evening and then on Saturday will take her to be privately cremated."
Salter made eight appearances for the Silver Ferns between 1974 and 1975 under the watchful eye of then head coach Dame Lois Muir.
It was her contribution to coaching in her home region of Otago where she made her biggest contribution though guiding the Otago Rebels to the inaugural Coca-Cola Cup and backed up by leading the Otago team to its first national title in 66 years.
Salter was determined to help niece and Southern Steel head coach Reinga Bloxham build netball in the south going on to coach the region's BEKO League side, also having a stint coaching the New Zealand Under-21 side.
