A career best bowling spell from spinner Jess Watkins has helped the New Zealand womens cricketers to their first win at the T20 World Cup beating Pakistan by 54 runs in Guyana.

Unfortunately before they even started the game they knew that there was no way they could qualify for the semi-finals, after India beat Ireland.

The White Ferns scored 144 for 6 from their 20 overs with Suzie Bates making 35 and Sophie Devine 32.

In reply the Pakistanis started well, but Watkins changed the course of the game by picking up 3 wickets for 9 runs from her 4 overs.

The White Ferns last game is against Ireland on Sunday.
