In reply Pakistan cruised to their target in 41 overs.

Faqar Zaman top scored with 88.

Lockie Ferguson took three wickets for 60 runs from 10 overs.

It ends a 12 match ODI losing streak for Pakistan against New Zealand.

Captain Kane Williamson concedes a poor batting effort cost them any chance.

"A bit of scrapping that got us a total, but it wasn't enough on that surface. We were outplayed. In hindsight we will look back some things that we need to improve."

"In Dubai, we'll look to build on the lessons. With the ball, the guys did try hard, but not enough runs."

The third and deciding game is in Dubai on Monday morning.
