Tietjens says there'll be opportunities for others

Samoa thoroughly deserved to win the International Rugby Board's sevens series, according to New Zealand master coach Gordon Tietjens.

New Zealand lacked consistency throughout the series. Tietjens thinks they didn't deserve to beat Australia in their semi-final at the last tournament in Edinburgh, which Samoa won.

However Tietjens says there's no need for a lot of changes, other than those he has to cope with every season.

He's resigned to losing some of his stars to next year's Super 15 but knows from experience new players will step up.

One name being bandied about for hopeful sevens Games glory is Sonny Bill Williams, who's considering a New Zealand Rugby Union contract.
