New Zealand's world champion men's rowing pair of Eric Murray and Hamish Bond have had a safe passage to the semi-finals in the first World Cup regatta in Bled, Slovenia with a comfortable heat win.

They are joined in the next round by sculler Emma Twigg, who won her heat to move straight through to her final.

But there was disappointment for the new women's four of Harriet Austin, Paula Twining, Emma Feathery and Louise Trappit, who finished last in their heat now face a repercharge.
