Warriors to wear all white to honour NZ footballers

7:11 pm on 27 May 2010

The Warriors rugby league side are to honour the All Whites in a cross-code celebration at their next home game.

Mount Smart Stadium was the venue for all the New Zealand footballers' home qualifying and warm-up matches for the 1982 World Cup in Spain, and the Warriors will wear an all-white strip when they host St George Illawarra in their 13th-round NRL clash on Sunday the 6th of June.

Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah says the All Whites are at the biggest single sporting event in the world next month, so they want to make a fuss about it.

The club will also invite 1982 All Whites to the Dragons game.
