The Spanish football champions Barcelona have snapped up David Villa from Valencia, spending $73 million to secure the Spanish striker for four years with an option for a fifth year.
Valencia's president says Barcelona's bid was accepted ahead of a big offer from an English club, but it wasn't Chelsea.
Villa will be spearheading Spain's World Cup campaign in South Africa next month.
