Team New Zealand managed to salvage a win on the opening day of fleet racing in the MedCup regatta in Portugal.
The New Zealanders opened the defence of the series title poorly with a 6th and an 11th, but then won the day's third and final race.
The British Cristabella leads with Team New Zealand five points behind in eighth.
