The New Zealand cricketers have been eliminated from the Twenty20 World Cup after losing to England by three wickets in their last Super Eight match in St Lucia.

Batting first New Zealand made 149 for six with Ross Taylor scoring 44 and Brendan McCullum 33.

England started strongly and while New Zealand managed to pick up a few wickets late in the game, the English cruised to their total with an over to spare... Scott Styris and Shane Bond took 2 wickets each.

It meant England finished unbeaten at the top of the group, while Pakistan, who'd beaten South Africa earlier, New Zealand and South Africa all finished on 1 win each... the Pakistani's went through to the semi-finals with a superior run rate.

The New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori says right throughout the tournament they were always 15 to 20 runs short of what they needed.
