Daniel Braid missing for Reds

The Queensland Reds will have to try to beat the Hurricanes without vice-captain Daniel Braid in Friday night's pivotal Super 14 rugby game in Wellington.

The former All Blacks No.7 strained a knee ligament early in the loss to the ACT Brumbies last weekend but played out most of the match.

Andrew Shaw comes in at flanker for Braid among five changes to the starting team.

Former Brumbies lock Radike Samo makes his first Super rugby appearance in four years in a new-look second-row alongside fellow veteran Van Humphries.

Winger Rod Davies also returns from injury while another former Wallaby, the prop Greg Holmes, starts at tight-head for the first time this year.
