Waikato are top of the National Basketball League after a seven-point home win over Manawatu.
The Pistons beat the Jets 87-80 at Hamilton Boys High School, largely thanks to 32 points from young Tall Blacks swingman Thomas Abercrombie.
The Giants also beat Hawkes Bay 68-57 in a low-scoring affair at Nelson's Trafalgar Centre.
