Black Caps to play Sri Lanka in Florida

6:46 am on 24 April 2010

The Black Caps will play Sri Lanka in a three-match Twenty20 series in Florida next month to launch a new partnership between USA Cricket and New Zealand Cricket.

The first international cricket matches to be played by full ICC members in the USA will take place from May 20-23 after the World Cup in the West Indies.

New Zealand Cricket's chief executive Justin Vaughan says the series is the first of many initiatives between the two boards and they envisage the Black Caps playing in the USA annually.

An Indian property development company, Pearls Infrastructure, is the naming rights sponsor and the teams will compete for the Pearls Cup at the only ICC approved stadium in North America in Lauderhill, a suburb of Ft. Lauderdale.
