Despite being outplayed in the two nil series loss to Australia, the New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori doesn't believe the season has been all doom and gloom.
The Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson claimed a ten wicket match haul to guide Australia to a 176 run win over New Zealand, in the second test in Hamilton.
Needing 479 to win, New Zealand was bowled out for 302, just before lunch on the fifth and final day with Martin Guptill making 58 and Brendon McCullum 51.
Ahead of the series Vettori said the two tests would define their season but he refuses to be too downcast preferring to reflect on the side's good performances.
They included reaching the final of the Champions Trophy one day tournament, beating Pakistan in a one day series, drawing the home test series against Pakistan and beating Bangladesh.
