The Chiefs says the former All Black Sione Lauaki is available for Super 14 rugby selection pending his sentencing on May 6 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault.
Chief executive Gary Dawson says once the court case is over Lauaki faces an internal
disciplinary process but is available in the meantime.
The 28 year old appeared in the Hamilton District Court today following an incident in a central Hamilton bar earlier this month when he punched a person twice after a dispute over a drink.
