Chelsea slipped up in the race for the English Premier League football title when they dropped two points in a 1-all draw at Blackburn Rovers.
The result left Chelsea third at the end of a weekend which saw Arsenal beat West Ham United 2-nil yesterday and Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 this morning to lead the standings with 69 points from 31 games. Arsenal have 67 from 31 while Chelsea have 65 from 30.
Didier Drogba put Chelsea ahead with his 22nd league goal of the season after six minutes, and although Chelsea dominated much of the match they could not build on their lead and paid for that after 70 minutes when El Hadji Diouf headed Rovers level.
In today's other match, Manchester City won 2-1 at Fulham and moved into fifth place on 53 points, two behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who have 55 points but have played a game more.
