The Blues have marked the captain Keven Mealamu's 100th game for their side with an exciting 39-34 win over the ACT Brumbies in Auckland at the start of week six of Super 14 rugby.
The Brumbies started strongly and led 16-10 at half-time while the Blues were bright in patches but prone to errors.
That changed abruptly just after half-time when centre Rene Ranger scored the second of the Blues' five tries after setting up the first to Joe Rokocoko midway through the first half.
The winger scored again from a Stephen Brett cross-kick after second-five Benson Stanley touched down in the other corner - then Brett put fullback Isaia Toeava over.
Four tries in 12 minutes took the Blues to 36-22 before the Brumbies scored two of their three tries in the final quarter.
But Brett drop-kicked a goal with a minute left to give the Blues their third win and the Brumbies their first defeat in four games.
