The haul brings the New Zealand's teams medal tally at the Youth Commonwealth Games to 27 putting New Zealand second equal with Australia in the national medal tables. England lead the medal tally with 40 medals.

New Zealand's medals are made up of eight gold, 13 silver and eight bronze with the swimming team finishing a strong campaign with 19 medals in total.

Wellington swimmer Lewis Clareburt had a particularly strong meet with a personal haul of seven medals from the pool including four golds.

"It is awesome," said Clareburt.

"Getting these results after a year of training - to stand on the podium and reflect on all the work you have done over the year, it is just awesome."
