Chuck Blazer, the former US football official turned FIFA whistleblower, has died, according to the New York Times.
Blazer, 72, who was a member of FIFA's executive committee member from 1996 to 2013 and a former vice-president of US Soccer, admitted to taking bribes in conjunction with bids to host previous football World Cups.
In 2015, he came clean about his role in a New York federal court hearing and was banned from the sport permanently.
