Pakistan abandon hosting NZ Davis Cup team after latest bombings

The Pakistan Tennis Federation has given up hope of hosting its Davis Cup tie against New Zealand in July after the latest bombings in Lahore.

The Federation's president Dilawar Abbas believes there's little chance the International Tennis Federation will allow Pakistan to host the Asia/Oceania Group II semi-final in Lahore following the deaths of about 45 people in last weekend's suicide bombings targeting the Pakistani military.

The ITF has already moved Davis Cup ties against Oman and Hong Kong out of Pakistan since last year.
