The Wellington Phoenix fairytale run in the football A-League has come to a controversial end, losing 4-2 to Sydney FC in the major semi-final in Sydney last night.
Sydney looked the better of the sides for much of the match but the game was soured when Sydney scored their second goal through a blatant hand-ball that was missed by the referee.
The Phoenix captain Andrew Durante was visibly upset with the incident and says the controversial goal turned the match in Sydney's favour.
Sydney will now face Melbourne in the grand final next Saturday night.
